Standing Together for Giannino – The Parramatta Family

One of the greatest things about supporting the Parramatta Eels for so many years is the friendships you make along the way. I’ve known Giannino Giusti for a very long time, sharing our passion for the Blue and Gold and the friendships that come with being part of the Parramatta family. I was deeply saddened to learn of his recent diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a devastating illness that no person or family should have to face.

Giannino’s son, Joel, has established a fundraiser through MND Australia called Giannino G Fight Against MND, raising money to support research into this terrible disease and help others affected by it. It’s a wonderful initiative during an incredibly difficult time for Giannino and his family, and one that deserves the support of our wider rugby league community.

While MND remains a devastating disease, I remain hopeful that the coming years will bring significant advances in research, treatment and, ultimately, a cure. My sincere hope is that Giannino and others living with MND will benefit from those advances. In the meantime, we can all do something to support the fight against this disease.

The Parramatta community has always been about more than football. It’s about the people, the friendships and standing together when one of our own needs support. I encourage everyone who can to consider making a donation, no matter how small, or sharing the fundraiser to help spread the word. My thoughts are with Giannino and his family, and I wish him strength and hope for the years ahead.
